Elsyca Expands DC & AC Bundle with Automated Arcing-Risk Analysis, Larger Fault Simulations, and Faster Model Building

Latest release brings automated safety screening, viewer-only result sharing, and streamlined model setup to Model Composer, IRIS (AC), and CatPro (DC).

WIJGMAAL (LEUVEN), Belgium, July 16, 2026 — Elsyca, a provider of electrochemical simulation software for cathodic protection, AC mitigation, and related electrochemical processes, today detailed the July 2026 release of its DC & AC Bundle, covering Model Composer, IRIS (AC), and CatPro (DC). The update adds automated safety analyses, larger and faster fault simulations, more realistic ground modeling, and easier collaboration between engineers, managers, and clients.

Re-Engineered, Parallelised Solvers (IRIS & CatPro)

The inductive and resistive fault-interference solvers have been rebuilt from the ground up and fully parallelised, with OpenMP threading putting every available core to work. A new 64-bit Win64 build lifts the memory limits of the previous architecture, so models can grow larger without sacrificing speed. Accuracy is unchanged; only the wait is shorter — an IRIS inductive study that previously took roughly 5.5 minutes now completes in 26 seconds, an IRIS resistive soil-update study drops from about 5.5 minutes to 40 seconds, and a CatPro two-layer model falls from roughly 5.3 minutes to 23 seconds.

"Elsyca solver has always been quick, but this is a real step up. In my testing, studies that ran in a few hours completed in a few minutes. The impact on our workflow is going to be big."— First Beta Testers Feedback.
Automatic Arcing-Risk Analysis (IRIS)

The release introduces a fully automated, two-step arcing-risk assessment that combines tower-to-pipeline distance under the Sunde criterion with the critical arc voltage, applying the standard's formula to every faulted tower. The result is defensible safety screening across an entire network with no manual calculations, with all results delivered in a single summary file.

Larger Fault Simulations (IRIS)

New solver options automatically retain only the faulted power line and the towers within the interference zone, allowing engineers to run larger, more realistic models on the same hardware with shorter runtimes, all without altering the master project.

Step Voltage and GPR at Points of Interest (IRIS)

Step voltage and ground potential rise are now computed automatically at defined special points such as test posts and valves, placing safety indicators exactly where assets and people are without requiring separate manual analyses.

Truer Ground Models

Linear soil-resistivity interpolation produces more realistic resistivity profiles and improves solver convergence, giving engineers a workable baseline even where field measurements are missing.

Network Integrity Checks

Automatic multi-UTM-zone detection across the bundle, together with a new CatPro pipeline routing check for sharp turns, catches geospatial and geometry errors early, before they distort routing or compromise simulation results.

Easier Collaboration

Previously computed AC and DC results now load instantly and can be shared through a new viewer-only mode that requires no solver license. This allows colleagues, managers, and clients to review results without rerunning them, while keeping solver licenses free for engineers.

Faster Model Building (Model Composer)

Project save and load, batch import, streamlined branch and network tools, unified AC and CP field-data files, and support for local coordinate systems reduce repetitive setup and manual errors, smoothing the path from field data to a simulation-ready model.
