From Concept to Catwalk: Surface Finishing Simulation for Luxury Products

Join our free webinar on Thursday, December 10, 2026 at 16:30 CET to see where the metal goes on watch, jewellery and accessory components, and what you can change before you plate.

In luxury finishing, the part that reaches the plating line is already expensive. It has been machined, polished, satin-finished and sometimes assembled. A thickness non-conformity or a cosmetic reject doesn't just cost the plating; it costs everything that came before it.

Deposit thickness varies with rack position, part geometry and distance to the anodes. None of that is visible until final inspection, or worse, the customer's incoming control. This session shows how electrochemical simulation makes it visible up front, across watch cases and bracelets, rings, pendants and settings, clasps and accessory hardware, and anodised aluminium components.

What You'll Learn

In this webinar, Elsyca will show how electrochemical simulation allows you to:

  • See the deposit thickness distribution across the whole rack before a single part enters the tank.
  • Understand why identical parts plate differently depending on their position on the rack.
  • Handle the geometries that work against you, such as openwork designs, interlocking links, recesses under lugs, and sharp edges beside polished flanks.
  • Use the right levers: rack layout and orientation, hanging point, shielding and auxiliary anodes.
  • Reduce precious metal overplating on gold, rhodium and palladium layers without risking minimum thickness.
  • Give feedback to the design office while the geometry is still open in CAD and changes cost nothing.

Speakers

Negin Madelat | CAE Project Engineer - PLATE | LinkedIn
Negin has over eight years of experience in electrochemistry and surface engineering. She earned her Ph.D. in this field, where her research focused on developing a predictive toolkit to support the mechanistic understanding of surface coatings, while bringing together knowledge of materials characterization and engineering.
She then carried out two years of postdoctoral research on electrolytic processes, including electrodeposition, electrowinning, and anodizing. Over the course of her work, she has been part of large research consortia involving industrial partners, gaining experience in connecting fundamental studies with practical, real-world applications..

Reshmaa Selvakumar | Business Developer - PLATE | LinkedIn
Reshmaa has a strong background in application engineering, technical sales, and customer enablement for advanced engineering simulation software. She has worked closely with industrial customers on SaaS-based solutions, supporting onboarding, training, and successful technology adoption. With experience spanning application engineering, training coordination, and commercial-facing roles, she brings a deep understanding of both technical and customer needs within the PCB simulation domain.

Who Should Attend

The session is built for plating and process engineers in watch, jewellery and luxury accessory production, and for galvanic department managers at case makers, habillage subcontractors and jewellery manufacturers. It is equally relevant to methods and industrialisation engineers introducing new references onto an existing line, and to designers and technical offices who tend to get plating problems back late.

Save Your Seat

Date: Thursday, December 10, 2026 | Time: 16:30 CET | Location: Online (Microsoft Teams)

Join us to see how simulation shows you where the metal will go before the rack goes into the bath. That means fewer late rejects, less precious metal wasted, and new references qualified without burning parts.
