Real Time ICCP Simulation solution developed together with Corrosion & Water Control

Nowadays ICCP system is more and more often used to protect complex steel on- and offshore structures against corrosion. In order to make a suitable and controllable system design, many factors should be taken into consideration, due to the increasing complexity of steel structures and more stringent environmental aspects and specifications.

 

Simulation software has been developed to check and optimize the designs of cathodic protection systems (ICCP system, sacrificial anodes or a combination). The results of this modeling, achieved by advanced software techniques, provide a reliable and extended insight of the cathodic protection levels.

 

The next step is the Real Time ICCP Simulation. Elsyca NV and Corrosion & Water-Control bv combined their expertise and developed this sophisticated combination.

This Real Time ICCP Simulation program interprets and transfers the continuous flow of data from the ICCP system into a real time simulation model. With this real time ICCP model, the user is equipped with a powerful monitoring tool. Every detailed part of the steel structure (rig, pipeline, wind turbine, etc.) can be checked directly for the adequate cathodic protection. This can never be achieved with an ICCP system without this flexible monitoring tool. Data from this real time model can be easily interpreted from a distance and used to adjust and fine tune the ICCP system, whenever and wherever necessary.
