Significant global co-operation agreement with Subspection

December 29, 2009

Subspection (an iicorr company) and Elsyca NV agree significant global co-operation agreement enabling a close working relationship in the oil and gas asset corrosion protection sector. Building on their 2009 project experience together the two companies have agreed to work towards a holistic service by combining years of engineering design knowledge and knowhow with the latest cutting edge simulation software to produce a best in class service to the market.

Jacques Parlongue of Elsyca notes that the cooperation agreement allows both companies to offer a competitive edge to the market place with the iicorr-Subspection experience in correct data correlation for the model. The model itself combines the best of existing and validated numerical methods such as the Boundary Element Method (BEM) and the Finite Element Method (FEM) and the capability of modelling the cathodic protection of large and complex asset configurations while changes can be made and simulated without previously prohibitive labor costs.

Gordon McKinnell is quoted as saying “the market trend to extend the operating field life of assets in the North Sea and developing risk based inspection regimes for new assets and infrastructure need close attention and the most progressive approaches to the way survey data is collected, used and presented. With the agreement complete systems and any changes of configuration, operation and forecasting of the future impacts can be closely predicted saving costly retrofit solutions”.
