Elsyca is one of the partners in the recently approved INAREIS project, a European project on the Industrial Application of Electro-osmosis to Reduce Environmental Impact of Steel Sheet Piles via Reuse.
The application of an environmentally friendly technique such as electro-osmosis for the extraction of sheet piles is a promising application field for this established technology. The project is directed to develop a practical method of assisting sheet pile extraction by electro-osmosis, based on numerical simulations and experiments.
Elsyca has developed an impressive model library for the simulation of all types of electrochemical processes and applications as well as has extensive experience with the optimisation of these processes.
Elsyca's contribution to the project is indispensable as is includes the set-up of a numerical electrochemical model of the movement of water in the soil due to electro-osmosis. The model will be implemented into the existing Elsyca software and applied to sheet-pile configurations and ground conditions at field test sites, enabling to predict the electro-osmosis effect in a large number of different situations and to extract relevant data for the guidelines.
