CP modeling in offshore
(Materials Performance, Sep 2012)
Offshore structures in the oil and gas industry are protected from corrosion with sacrificial or impressed current anode cathodic protection (CP) systems. To determine if a particular CP system design will provide adequate protection for a structure's present and future corrosion prevention needs, a 3-D computerized model is created to simulate the CP performance and its impact on all submerged surfaces.
