Electrochemical processes are used for a wide variety of applications each of them dealing with specific challenges: functional and decorative electroplating processes suffer from strong variations in the deposited metal layer thickness; defining the correct tooling set for an electroforming process is a major engineering challenge as is the design of the cathode tool in ECM processes; hydrogen evolution is an important phenomenon to be accounted for in the electro-colouring processes as is temperature control in anodizing, etc.

Such issues are today typically addressed using a ‘trial-and-error’ approach which is a time and cost consuming process.

Elsyca’s Advanced Engineering Services team uses an in-house 3D simulation platform that is capable of modeling and simulating the complete electrochemical process.
