HVAC Mitigation

What services do we offer?

Elsyca can assist you with the assessment of the HVAC interference and design of a HVAC mitigation system for a pipeline network with any complexity. The interference and mitigation system is modelled in virtual space, allowing for a quick assessment of design alternatives and what-if scenario’s (various operating modes, changing environments, fault conditions, potential damage scenarios, etc.). A typical design project consists of several activities:

  • on-site investigative study / survey; AC, mitigation, interference, simulation, software, design, model, pipeline , integrity, HVAC
  • data capturing and measurement: soil resistivity;
  • CAD modeling (e.g. import from AutoCAD) of the pipeline network and HVAC towers or burried cables and initial design of the cathodic protection system;
  • simulation of the AC interference and mitigation system;
  • further optimization of number and location of earthing systems;
  • post-installation verification of performance.

Having a virtual 3D model of the pipeline network and its HVAC mitigation system allows to:

  • predict how mitigation strategies will protect the pipelineAC, mitigation, interference, simulation, software, design, model, pipeline , integrity, HVAC;
  • quickly evaluate various design alternatives;
  • trace conceptual mistakes before any actual installation;
  • model performance of grounding systems;
  • identify the critical areas and verify local induced current/voltage levels;
  • optimize your future survey planning, prioritise towards critical areas.

What value do we bring ?

The ‘design by virtual simulation’ of a HVAC mitigation system will result in:

  • assurance on safety, reliability, and integrity of the pipeline network;
  • cost reductions over the total service life of the pipeline network from design to maintenance:
    • short term substantial savings on capital equipment costs relating to materials and equipment: less grounding systems, less time and money;
    • avoiding costly issues relating to environmental approval, right-of-way or servitude issues for pipeline systems;
    • long term maintenance and monitoring savings.
  • much better insight into the performance and longevity of the HVAC mitigation system, thus enabling more reliable decisions.

A proper HVAC mitigation design ultimately safeguards the environment and assets, all while reducing costs.
